We have released a new EP! The seasonal sketches we worked on over the last 12 months have been compiled and are now available to listen to wherever you get your music.
Did you ever play ‘Exquisite Corpses’ as a child? On a piece of paper, you draw a head – then you fold it over, obscuring the design, and give it to a friend, who draws the torso, who folds the paper, who gives it to a friend, who draws the legs, who folds the paper, who gives it to a friend, who draws the feet. You unravel the paper, and laugh and shriek and recoil at the nonsense figure you have built together. Maybe it’s cutesy, smutty, or grotesque. Maybe it’s surprisingly anodyne.
We played a version of exquisite corpses to make these tracks, inspired by musics from the English ritual year. We worked on the music files one at a time, each adding one musical idea, with the results being as you hear them. Recording remotely, and recording quickly, created possibilities outside of our normal rehearsing and recording strategies. Each track is more compact, more off-the-cuff, more resourceful: we had so much fun.
We hope you enjoy listening to the EP as much as we enjoyed making it.
Much love,
Flo (Remorae)
